JOYOUS: a night to celebrate the strength of the unseen
The strength of the unseen represents both the girls of MRH and the people who support them. In creating this piece we were inspired as much by the triumphant stories we’ve heard, as by the unimaginable ones we haven’t.
the figure
Our goal was to create a work of art that would embody the strength and resilience of a survivor. Our figure bounds forward with the delicateness of a flower and a strength we cannot imagine. She has overcome the unthinkable to strive toward joy. She doesn’t only represent the girls of My Refuge House. Our hope is that she is a joyous reminder for anyone who has ever felt unseen.
